Mt Tawonga Anna - (Wawayanda Watchout x Aura Dell Misty)

Anna is my darling. She was my first purebred mare and will always hold a special place in my heart. She is the matriarch of the herd and rules with a strong but fair hoof. All the foals like hanging out with Aunty Anna. They'll go back to their mums for a drink, but much prefer Anna's company. Aunty Anna is much more fun anyway. When she was younger, she'd play like a boy with the geldings... rearing and bucking and cavorting over the hills holding her own.

She has a wonderful sense of humour. As a maiden, she would jump out of her paddock to join in what ever her humans were doing – be it gardening, servicing the Landcruiser or a building project. We’d be concentrating on whatever task we were attending when we’d feel another pair of eyes… there she would be, peering at what ever we were peering out, trying to help nut out the problem. The fact that she was a horse and did not possess an opposable digit, did not deter her. She was there to help. Her daughter, Annastasia has the same Houdini tendancies and is often found in the wrong paddock.

She is an absolute delight.

Her foals are a tribute to her. They are all consistent, steady and sensible thinking horses. Quality animals. I can’t wait to have them under saddle. Annastasia will be my first and is due to be started this year.
