Born at 306 days gestation - Salvador beat the odds and true to his fighting spirit, survived. Two lots of plasma, multiple vet visits, antiobiotics and 6 weeks of intensive care and the little guy survived.
What amazes me about Salvador - more than his fighting spirit, which is incredible - is through all the treatment and interference from humans, he has stayed truly sweet and loving towards people. He just LOVES people.

We are blessed to have him with us and are truly mesmerised by this wee miracle.

Tui's Theme Song x Mt Tawonga Anna

Born exactly 12 months to the day after his older brother Wirraway Black Label - Wirraway Manhatten was born at 2:45pm. We were fortunate to be home and working around the farm that Sunday afternoon and got to witness his birth - just. We were there as his back legs were delivered. But when we arrived in the paddock, he was sitting up and surveying the world that WAS his. He claimed it before he was completely born.

Manny is truly stunning! Born at 10hh and still 2 weeks early, he is all you'd expect from this outstanding cross. When naming him, we decided (with the help of Lisa Wong) that he was more horse for just one spirit (this line is named after spirits... alcholic and celestrial)... and decided he needed to be named after a cocktail of spirits. Manhatten is a red cocktail and suits him. He is THE MAN! and he knows it.

Wirraway Garibaldi (aka Gabe) was part of a team effort. He and his half sister were both born on the same night. He was a bit slower than his half siblings at standing up and figuring out where the milk bar is.... and had a slow start to life.. but 4 days later, he was joining in the fun and bouncing all over the place.

Gabe has the same sweet temperament that Salvador has - just gorgeous gentle feel about him. He is going to be a wonderful riding horse and will provide unlimited enjoyment for whoever his human is as he moves through life. He is FUN.. gentle, intelligent and considerate and naturally respectful.. I really like this boy. He has a wisdom about him.. I'm sure he's been here before.

Tui's Theme Song x Fox Brush Custom Design

While I was observing Wirraway Garibaldi's birth and noting all those things you need to on the birth of a foal, Fox Brush Custom Design (who was in the foaling paddock with Tiara) came up and nuzzled me... and walked off... then she came back and nuzzled me again.. and walked off.. so I followed her a bit and gave her rump a massage, she promptly lay down and started to deliver her gorgeous filly....

I lifted the tail on the foal and when I realised it was a filly, raced upstairs, turned on the computer and emailed Rik's part owner, MaryAnn Schafer to tell her the news... then I doubted my ability to sex a foal, so went back and checked again! I was thrilled to see I was right. By that time Wirraway Dream On was keen to stand up and find the milk bar.. which she promptly did. Gabe was still figuring out where his legs were, while Mony was up suckling.
